Preparing NATCA Members for the Campaign
Alongside the public education endeavor, the “Fly Us Safe” campaign seeks to more thoroughly prepare NATCA members to organize, unify, and spread the word about air safety. As NATCA President John Carr noted in a letter to NATCA members, “we will seek to ensure the necessary improvements in safety, staffing, modernization and working conditions that our members and the traveling public will rely on. During this time, it is essential that we show the public and the FAA that the members of NATCA stand united.”
As part of the internal campaign, NATCA produced a series of “Fly Us Safe” Campaign talking points for NATCA members holding press conferences and discussing the issues with local representatives. Additionally, the union developed a series of posters reflecting the solidarity of NATCA members, and also highlighting specific examples of FAA mismanagement. NATCA members can access this information by logging in to the members’ section of the NATCA website.
