NATCA Day at the Ballpark, September 6, 2006
With the highest bid in a NATCA Charitable Foundation auction, NATCA Executive Vice President Paul Rinaldi won the opportunity for his son, Anthony, to throw out the first pitch at a Washington Nationals game. Fans in attendance were also treated to a rousing rendition of the national anthem by Charlotte controller Ann Marie Taggio.

2006 Indianapolis Labor Day Parade, September 2, 2006
Indianapolis Center (ZID) entered a homebuilt airplane, a helicopter, and an Indiana National Guard air traffic controller tower/truck as floats in the annual Labor Day parade, held in downtown Indianapolis.
