Automation Support Specialists (ATB 200 and AOS 300)FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATIONAUTOMATION SUPPORT SPECIALISTS(ATB 200 AND AOS 300) NATCA represents 175 employees in nine different regions in the Terminal Business Unit and Automation Support Division. The members in this bargaining unit are air traffic control specialists, computer specialists, and computer scientists. Their primary function is to provide National Airways System (NAS) operational computer software support and maintenance for en route centers and terminal environments. NATCA won the election by 80 percent of the vote. The Federal Labor Relations Authority issued certification on June 1, 2000 and an interim agreement has been signed. These members are located at terminals (ATB 200) and centers (AOS 300) and are also members of the air traffic locals at their facilities, and are represented by the nine regional vice presidents on the National Executive Board. What Do These Members Do? Automation specialists manage and troubleshoot National Airways System (NAS) computer software within the terminal and en route center environments. They have a direct impact on the maintenance and upgrading of software, which displays aircraft information on the on the air traffic controller's scope.
