National Committees

National Communications Committee | Meet Members
The National Communications Committee ensures that information technology (IT) resources within NATCA are used to their fullest potential. The Committee develops policy for IT resources, which is submitted for adoption and implementation by the National Executive Board.

National Constitution Committee | Meet Members
The National Constitution Committee ensures that the proposed amendments to the NATCA constitution meet deadlines prior to conventions. The Committee debates each proposal with the goal of submitting a recommendation for or against adoption. At the convention, the Committee serves as the Rules and Resolutions committee. The Rules Committee drafts proposed convention rules to be adopted by the delegates; the Resolutions Committee reviews proposed resolutions with respect to their timeliness, and alerts to any possible constitutional conflicts. After the convention, the Constution Committee compiles the changes, verifies them with the convention transcript and publishes the revised constitution and bylaws.

National Election Committee | Web Site
The National Election Committee is a five-person committee appointed by the President.  They are responsible for conducting national and regional elections every three years as well as runoff and special elections.  The committee is also responsible to investigate all election protests and make recommendations to the National Executive Board based on Department of Labor guidelines.

National Finance Committee | Meet Members
The National Finance Committee forwards proposed amendments and recommendations to the convention body; reviews salaries of national officers, and prepares a report about its meetings and activities in between the biennial conventions. The Committee reviews and approves the union's annual budget and conducts quarterly audits.

National Legislative Committee | Meet Members | Web site
The NLC is responsible for organizing and implementing the union's grassroots legislative efforts. The Committee is comprised of an appointed representative from each region and a chairperson elected by the committee. The NLC works with the Legislative Team to develop training sessions, recruits volunteers and disseminates information about legislative activities. Lobbying by the Committee and NATCA members is an ongoing process throughout the year. Each regional legislative chairperson is responsible for establishing a network of activists within its region, and ensuring that the activists are trained and have all the necessary resources available to build working relationships with members of Congress.

National Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Committee (OSHA) | Meet Members
The OSHA Committee was instituted to establish and promote an effective program aimed at improving labor management cooperation, and providing methods for employees to raise concerns related to OSH&E without fear of reprisal.

National Office of Worker Compensation Program Committee (OWCP) | Meet Members |  Web Site
The OWCP Committee was established as a proactive measure on the part of NATCA to assist union members who incur a job related traumatic injury, or an occupational disease or illness. The committee is made up of NATCA activists from each region. Committee members become certified compensation specialists upon successful completion of training, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. These specialized representatives offer a valuable resource to NATCA fac reps and members facing the complex world of an OWCP claim. In addition to providing individual assistance, Committee members are available to conduct OWCP briefings at union meetings, or other events such as regional fac rep seminars.

National Safety Committee | Meet MembersWeb Site
The National Safety Committee is the focal point for NATCA on all air traffic control procedural and equipment-related safety issues, including current and proposed air traffic control handbook initiatives, existing equipment and technology. It works closely with the Safety and Technology Team on advising the union's leadership about safety issues affecting the bargaining unit members, as well as coordinating and providing input to work groups.
