Engineers (AOS)

NATCA represents 300 employees in Oklahoma City and Atlantic City. The members in this bargaining unit provide many different services that everyone in FAA needs at one time or another.

NATCA won the elections for the groups AVN, AOS-200, AOS-510, AOS-610 and AOS-260/270. Federal Labor Relations Authority certification was issued for AOS-200 on May 22, 2000, for AOS-510 and AVN on July 14, 2000 and AOS-610 on Aug. 10, 2000. An interim agreement has been signed.

Within NATCA, this division is a combination of engineers and architects and create essentially one "region" of about 2,508 total bargaining unit members. Mike MacDonald serves as the Engineers and Architects Vice President on the National Executive Board.

What Do These Members Do?

The National Airways Systems Engineering Division provides field support, maintains the configuration management of systems and performs modifications of equipment. They also provide invaluable equipment restoration services for air traffic control, assisting in restoring systems when there is an outage. They perform site testing, evaluating new systems prior to becoming operational.
