Air Traffic Controllers
The U.S. air traffic controller workforce consists of over 14,000 dedicated and well-trained men and women. Air Traffic Controllers work in airport control towers and many of these professionals work in en route control and terminal radar approach centers. Read More
Engineers & Architects
NATCA represents over 600 engineers and architects who design new facilities, construct or remodel ATC facilities and replace aging National Airways System (NAS) equipment. They evaluate systems and provide technical support to fix problems with NAS equipment. In addition, they analyze radar and communications coverage, correct deficiencies in existing systems propose changes and upgrades and present those changes to the agency to secure funding and support. Engineers determine whether facilities will be replaced or upgraded, develop plans for improvements and implement upgrades and construction, installation projects and much more. Read More
Aerospace Medicine
NATCA represents approximately 30 members of Aerospace Medicine in Regional FAA offices, en route centers and the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. Nurses and their assistants who work closely with doctors and report indirectly to the Office of Aviation Medicine comprise this group. They help administer physicals for FAA employees, including controllers. Read More
Aircraft Certification Service 
NATCA represents 550 employees in the Aircraft Certification Division, who have offices located in four directorates (which geographically cover every region) and Brussels. This group is comprised of aerospace engineers, senior engineers, program managers, flight test pilots, aircraft certification assistants and various administrative and technical support personnel. The Aircraft Certification Division approves the new designs and modifications of aircraft, engines, propellers, and related components and accessories.

Airports Division
NATCA represents 289 members of Airports Division in all regions, except the FAA's Eastern Region office. Includes all airports district offices nationwide. Employees are responsible for the distribution of all airport improvement funds, coordination of airport design, oversight of land purchases and annual safety inspections. Read More
Automation Support Specialists (ATB 200 and AOS 300)
NATCA represents 300 Automation Support Specialists in rn route centers and field facilities nationwide. Computer specialists, computer scientists, electronic engineers and air traffic control specialists make up this group. Their primary function is to provide operational computer software support and maintenance for en route centers and terminal environments. Read More
Engineers (AOS)
NATCA represents 300 engineers in Oklahoma City for AVN (Aviation System Standards ), AOS (Operational Support)-200, 510 and AFS (Flight Standards)-610; Atlantic City for AOS-260/270. This is the National Airways Systems Engineering Division, which provides field support, maintains the configuration management of systems and performs modifications of equipment. Read More
Financial Services (ABA-HQ)
NATCA represents 100 members of Financial Services who are budget and policy analysts, financial management accountants, travel and payroll financial accountants overseeing all aspects of the FAA budget for all lines of business. Read More
Inspectors of the Compliance and Enforcement Branch of the Drug Abatement Division
NATCA represents 22 inspectors in seven regional Federal Aviation Administration offices, Miami, the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center and in headquarters. The members in this bargaining unit report directly to the Office of Aerospace Medicine. Read More
Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)
NATCA represents 4 employees at the Federal Aviation Administration's David J. Hurley Air Traffic Control Systems Command Center in Herndon, Va., in the air traffic control specialists, U.S. Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) Office (USNOF) Unit. The members in this bargaining unit are responsible for operation compliance with polices, procedures and communicate this data to pilots on any issue that impacts safety of flight. Read More
Regional Counsel's Office:
NATCA represents 10 employees in eight different regions in the FAA Legal Division. The members in this bargaining unit are attorneys, para-professionals and other administrative staff assigned to the Legal Division. Read More
Regional Logistics, Finance and Information Management Services Division
NATCA represents 535 members of the Division in regional offices nationwide, except in the Eastern Region. These are regional real estate, acquisition, materiel/material, property, regional building services, accounting, payroll, finance, budget and computer specialists. They are involved in materiel/material purchasing and inventory control, asset management and accountability, land and associated fixtures purchasing, budget planning, payroll for all employees, accounts receivable and payable, programming and computer support. Staff Support Specialists
NATCA now represents 678 staff specialists who are air traffic controllers located in regional offices, en route traffic control centers, Terminal Radar Approach Controls, and airport traffic control towers. Staff specialists support the daily operation of the air traffic system through a variety of functions. One of their primary responsibilities is to initiate procedural and traffic management changes to enhance the air traffic controller's ability to move aircraft through the system. Read More
Traffic Management Coordinators (TMCS)
NATCA represents 635 employees in en route centers and terminals, including 88 within ATCSCC in Herndon, Va. The members in this bargaining unit provide many different services that everyone in the FAA needs at one time or another. Read More
