Tim Smith is serving his first term as Southwest Region Vice President for the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.

Smith started at the OKC Academy on March 1, 1989. He was assigned to Oakland Center (ZOA) where he participated on area level QTP teams and served as both ZOA Secretary and Area Rep. In 1998, Smith relocated to Forth Worth Center (ZFW), where he remains today, and has served as both vice president and facility representative.

Smith has been an influential union member regionally, not only participating on the Regional LMR Team since 2003 but holding the title of LMR Team Lead from 2005 until he turned it over to Ric Loewen in 2009.

Smith and his wife, Karen, have two sons, TJ and Jesse, and currently reside in Paradise, Texas.

Smith is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
