THOMPSON: Louisville Approach, how do you hear?

PILOT, CHARLES MOORE: Four five five six three, uh, Standiford Approach, uh … do you hear me?

THOMPSON: November four five five six three you’re loud and clear. How am me, sir?

MOORE: Uh, OK.

THOMPSON: And November four five five six three, Louisville Approach, is your altitude about 700 feet, sir?

MOORE: November five six three.

THOMPSON: And November five six three, I understand you’re about seven hundred feet, correct?

MOORE: (unintelligible)

THOMPSON: OK, I tell you what, November five six three, I tell you what, um, Clark County, you’re about eight hundred feet, sir?

MOORE: November five six three.

THOMPSON: Affirmative, at eight hundred feet.

MOORE: Hey, yeah, five six three, Standiford.

THOMPSON: November five six three, this is Standiford, how do you hear?

THOMPSON: And November four five five six three, this is Louisville Approach, the altimeter is two niner niner two, how do you hear, sir?

MOORE: I need some help, man. I’m afraid. Help me.

THOMPSON: And November four five five six three, say again please?

MOORE: What heading do I take, what heading do I take?

THOMPSON: And sir, you’re garbled and unreadable. Say again, your last please?

MOORE: November five six three, what heading do I take?

THOMPSON: You’re heading to your base?

UPS 2325: Approach, this is UPS twenty three twenty five relay, he’s asking for a heading. He’s looking for some help.

THOMPSON: Roger, I understand sir. How do you hear me now, sir?

MOORE: 63 here. (unintelligible)  I almost spinned. I almost stalled again.

THOMPSON: Understand you almost stalled again sir. I show your altitude about nine hundred feet, is that correct?

MOORE: Affirmative, five six three.

THOMPSON: Roger that. Tell you what, can you climb for me to two thousand feet?

MOORE: I think so.

THOMPSON: Roger. Are you out of a thousand feet at this time?

MOORE: Thousand feet right now.

THOMPSON: Understand, a thousand feet right now.

THOMPSON: And November four five five six three, is your altitude one thousand two hundred sir?

MOORE: November five six three. I’m afraid to climb, I might stall.

THOMPSON: OK. No problem, sir. I tell you what, you can just stay where you are at one thousand one hundred, one thousand two hundred. Would you like to go to Bowman Field or would you like to try Clark County.

MOORE: Clark County. I want to get back home.

THOMPSON: OK. And November four five five six three, we got a hold of haps at Clark County. They’re going to turn the lights up all the way for you. The airport is at your twelve o’clock and a half a mile.

MOORE: Um. I appreciate the help. Have a good holidays.

THOMPSON: Sir, you too.
