Rivero:
“Seven-alpha-tango, VFR target 12 o’clock, two miles eastbound, shows 3,400 feet.”
Pilot:
Inaudible… “Seven-alpha-tango.”
Rivero:
“He’s sort of fast moving. He’s probably going to go off your left side out there.”
Pilot:
“Seven-alpha-tango”
Rivero:
“Seven-alpha-tango that traffic turned back there. He’s at 3,000 feet and he’s just off your left wing there. Uh, do you see him?”
Pilot:
“I’ve got him in sight. I’m going to climb above him here.”
Rivero:
“That’s fine sir. You can maneuver as to miss that target and when you’re clear just go back down to 3,000 feet and direct to Punta Gorda.”
Pilot:
“Ok, I’m heading back down. Thanks for that. I would’ve hit him.”
Rivero:
“Seven-alpha-tango I assume, I know you got a good look at him. What kind of airplane was that?”
Pilot:
“It looked like a 172 and was yellow and white.”
Rivero:
“Ok, that was the one that was heading due eastbound and uh, I guess he caught me off guard a little bit because he doubled back on you and he got right with you.”
Pilot:
Hey, no problem. Thanks a lot.”
Rivero:
“I wish I would’ve caught it a little sooner.”
