Washington National Airport (DCA)
Washington National Airport (DCA)
1. If your destination city has a secondary airport, utilize it. If you are traveling to Chicago, try to book flights that fly into Chicago Midway (MDW) rather than O’Hare (ORD), or if you are going to New York, try White Plains (HPN) rather than LaGuardia (LGA). These secondary airports have fewer flights, thus fewer delays.
2. Parking and check-in tips. DCA is servicing more passengers than ever and the parking garages are often full. If you can, try to take the metro or a taxi to get to DCA and take advantage of the curbside check in.
3. Avoid the afternoon rush. Fly as early in the day as possible to avoid the afternoon rush. By doing this, not only do you get to your destination earlier, but you can also avoid the afternoon thunderstorms, which can delay flights.
