1.  Schedule your flights for early in the day.  If possible plan to depart for your destination airport early in the day, with the earlier you can leave the better.  As the day progresses, schedules fall back, causing more delays. 

2.  Avoid afternoon thunderstorms.  As the summertime weather worsens during the day, more delays will occur.
