Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

MDW

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

1.  Fly early in the day.  By flying early in the day, you can avoid delays associated with summer afternoon thunderstorms and delays associated with traffic that has built up during the day.

2.  Fly into and out of MDW instead of O’Hare.  If flying into or out of Chicago, consider using MDW instead of ORD, because MDW is not a "hub and spoke" facility like ORD.  Whereas ORD deals with many passengers utilizing ORD as a connector airport, MDW is "point-to-point" airport.  This means the planes come into MDW and depart; there are very few passengers waiting for a connecting airplane to come in.  Also, unless there is a weather phenomenon, MDW has less delays then ORD coming and going.
