Philadelphia International Airport

1. Travel early, Travel early, Travel early. This is by far the most important advice. Take the earliest flights possible. There are several advantages to this, including at the end of each day, airlines reposition aircraft to begin the next day’s schedule. Therefore, aircraft for the earliest flights are usually already stationed at the airport. Later flights may be delayed because the aircraft is delayed arriving from another location. Also, thunderstorms build as the day progresses and temperatures rise causing flight delays, and security lines get longer throughout the day.
2. Always check your flight status as late as possible for updates. Check the flight status at www.phl.org or via the airline website for the most up-to-date information on your flight.
3. Whenever possible, pay the few dollars in tips and check your bags at the curb. The lines are usually shorter when checking in outside versus waiting inside for an agent.
