Runway Safety -- an update
On Thursday, September 25, 2008 NATCA testified in front of the House Aviation Subcommittee on Runway Safety -- an update from NATCA's previous testimony on runway safety in February 2008.
Testifying on behalf of the union is NATCA President Patrick Forrey. To read his full testimony click here.
Forrey testified that, since the February 2008 hearing, no significant or meaningful improvements have been made by the FAA.
an excerpt from Forrey's testimony:
“NATCA has been very disappointed by the lack of meaningful attention the FAA has given to addressing the issue of runway safety. Although the Agency has made some nominal gestures, it has done little of value to address NATCA’s concerns or implement our recommendations.”
