San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

SFO

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

Facility Representative David Caldwell

1.  Try to schedule departures for early in the morning.  At SFO flights that depart before 9:30 a.m. are usually on time or less likely to be delayed.  Overnight aircraft are primarily used for these flights and weather delays are less common early in the morning.

2.  Afternoon departures.  Between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. there are fewer departures from SFO and the flights that are departing are spread out, which decreases the number of delays, making this a good time to fly.

3.  Getting to SFO.  BART (www.bart.gov) and the AirTrain system are a great way to get into and out of SFO.  Passengers taking BART to SFO exit the train directly inside the International ticket lobby.  Passengers will then travel up a set of escalators to access AirTrain, SFO’s fully automated people mover (www.flysfo.com).
