NATCA Membership Drive
Thursday, October 14, 2010

As stated in previous NATCA updates, NATCA leadership has determined that the time is right for a sanctioned membership drive. The ratification of the Staff Specialist agreement, the Multi-units and Flight Service returning to the negotiating table, and the NEB approval of a 30-day Open Season (January 2011) for the E&A unit have all contributed to the decision.

The drive is going on now and will last long enough to cover the six-month grace period defined in SRD-10 for the Multi-units and Flight Service. The six-month grace period starts with the effective date of the first contract, and this will be the first contract for the Multi Units and Flight Service.

As part of the membership drive, NATCA’s Communications Department will be promoting the drive via NATCA communication vehicles and posters at the facilities, and incentives such as shirts for our members who sign up new members.

NATCA is also having "focused" lunches in each of the regional offices between early October and the middle of November, and then again in January. These lunches are intended to demonstrate to non-members The NATCA Difference, and to let them know that we want them in our NATCA family.
