NATCA Reloaded Spotlight
Thursday, October 21, 2010

This summer, NATCA Reloaded participated in the AFL-CIO’s national Next Up Young Workers Summit in Washington, D.C. The summit was held after the delegates to the 2009 AFL-CIO convention called for a long-term young worker outreach program for the labor movement.

During the summit, participants were able to share and develop ideas and recommendations on how the labor movement can attract, engage and empower young workers. They also took part in panels with AFL-CIO officers and four break-out sessions centered around the following themes: organizing, communication strategies, issues of “this” generation, and structure and leadership in our unions. The final part of the summit was where participants developed recommendations for moving forward and taking this movement to the next level.
