ZTL Member Closes Out Another Successful Year with Solar Astronomy Project

The Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project, directed by Atlanta Center (ZTL) NATCA member Stephen Ramsden, recently finished out the school year at Knox Elementary School in North Georgia by filming the students thanking the NATCA Charitable Foundation and NATCA members across the country in this short video:

The project teaches 50,000 students and adults yearly about solar activity and how it affects aviation safety and technology. NATCA's sponsorship of the program includes funding special glasses that enable students to view the sun without hurting their eyes.

Look for Ramsden and his solar telescopes at NATCA's annual Communicating for Safety conference in Atlanta in January!
