NATCA Reloaded Holds Indy Event
Wednesday, June 15, 2011

On Monday, June 6, ZID and IND NATCA Reloaded held a baseball outing at the AAA Indianapolis Indians game.

The day started at ZID with the membership wearing their red NATCA shirts -- a strong visual that demonstrated so many members working together in a display of solidarity. In the afternoon, ZID held a membership meeting that was very well attended, with even Great Lakes Regional Vice President Bryan Zilonis present for the day's events. Many agenda items were discussed, including NATCA in Washington, Local Child Care, the Indy Air show, and a briefing from Zilonis on where we are at with fatigue mitigation.

After the meeting, the membership from ZID/IND gathered at the Indianapolis Indians stadium for a slightly warm, but overall great evening of baseball. Almost 300 tickets were passed out to members and family. Our members took up almost two full sections -- the majority still wearing red and making for an impressive sight at the game.

During the game four members from ZID participated in an on-field game of musical chairs, with ZID's Legislative Rep Ashley Snedeker being the last member standing (or in this case sitting). Not to forget we were there for a baseball game: the hometown Indians scored four runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, and held on to win 6-4! After the game, fans were treated to an amazing fireworks display.

Our members left the event with big smiles, full stomachs, and great memories with their union brothers and sisters! In addition, for the members who had to be at work so all could enjoy the game, pizzas were delivered from Union Jacks for all of their hard work.

Special thanks goes to ZID President Tom Thompson and ZID VP John Pierce for their tireless efforts, and to the entire ZID e-board for approving an extremely successful local Reloaded event.
