Members Partake in "Sunflowers to Roses" Ride
Wednesday, August 17, 2011

On Sunday, Aug. 14, approximately 500 riders took part in LIVESTRONG's Sunflowers to Roses Bike Tour in Overland Park, KS. Among this large group of participants was NATCA's very own Central Region Vice President Kevin Peterson and ZKC member Cindi Bodine.

Sunflowers to Roses, now in its ninth year, is dedicated to fighting cancer through remarkable events that lift the human spirit, with the idea inspired by Lance Armstrong’s triumph over cancer and his subsequent Tour de France victories.

Team NATCA consisted of Peterson; his son, Blake; and Bodine (pictured below), who hope to spread the word on the importance of events such as these. "We plan to get a larger group involved in the Tour De BBQ held in October in Kansas City," said Peterson in regard to the city's upcoming cycling event to be held in conjuction with LIVESTRONG Day to benefit cancer research.
