Learn More About QA/QC Using our Online Resources

The Air Traffic Organization (ATO) has moved to a more systemic view of safety within the National Airspace System (NAS) and places more value on discovering why adverse safety occurrences happen. It also identifies risks rather than determining who was at fault.

The Safety Management System (SMS) model provides for a more measured and systemic approach to safety risk analysis. Quality Control is a key component of this system.

NATCA, led by the Safety Committee, is committed to helping its members understand everything about this new systemic approach. We have set up special sections on both our natcamembers.org Web site and new NATCA Mobile Web site (go.natca.org) about QA/QC.

These Web sites include safety orders and MOUs that are the foundation of this initiative. Also of interest and importance is the beginning of what will be a series of easy to read fact sheets designed to explain new processes that were rolled out with the new safety orders and MOUs on Jan. 30, 2012.
