Urgent News for Members With United/Continental Flights in FDT Program
Thursday, March 08, 2012

Last weekend, Continental and United merged their software structure with the unexpected result of the loss of our "ATC" code.

The FAA has been unable to access either United or Continental airlines' flight decks since the merger.

The "ATC" code is not present and the CASS system will not verify any controller IDs until it is corrected. Continental's IT department is working on restoring our access, but until then the FDT Program Office will be notifying affected participants over the next few days that their FDT flights will be cancelled.

The agency is working to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible and there will be another broadcast message as soon as the system is brought back up.
