Archie League Award Nominations Due Dec. 31
The ninth annual Archie League Medal of Safety Awards will be presented on March 6, 2013 at Communicating for Safety in Las Vegas. We are now accepting nominations for the awards through Dec. 31.
Please take a few moments to think of notable and extraordinary efforts made by your brothers and sisters at the facility this year to ensure safety. They would be great candidates for an Archie League Medal of Safety award and we urge you to nominate them.

New RNAV Departure Procedure Named for NATCA President Rinaldi
The D.C. Metroplex Team, which includes more than a dozen NATCA and management representatives and subject matter experts recently implemented two RNAV departure procedures, which create room for the OPDs and allow flights to leave the Washington area more efficiently.
One of those standard instrument departures is named for NATCA President Paul Rinaldi, who knows that airspace very well.
“It's a great honor and something I'm extremely proud of,” Rinaldi said. “I was incredibly fortunate to work with dedicated, highly skilled professionals at Dulles Tower and Potomac TRACON for 16 years, and we poured everything we had into making that airspace the very best and safest possible. I share this honor with that team. To see my name on that SID makes me think fondly of working that airspace and enjoying the camaraderie with my co-workers.”
