PCT Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

NATCA President Paul Rinaldi and Potomac TRACON (PCT) Facility Representative Matt Sullivan represented NATCA at a special celebration last week marking the 10th anniversary of PCT.
PCT provides ATC services to the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area and the Richmond-Charlottesville, Va. Areas. Included are Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport, Washington National Airport, Washington Dulles Airport, Richmond International Airport and Andrews Air Force Base.
On Dec. 14, 2002, the Shenandoah Area (Dulles TRACON) was cut over, officially opening PCT. The Mount Vernon Area (DCA TRACON and Andrews TRACON) was cut over on Feb. 1, 2003, followed by the James River Area (Richmond TRACON) on March 1, 2003 and, finally, Chesapeake Area (BWI TRACON) on April 5, 2003.
