Professionalism: “You know when you see it. You know when you don’t. You know what it takes. That’s the standard.”

That assessment from NATCA’s National Professional Standards Representative Garth Koleszar set the tone for a lively and motivational discussion at this year’s Communicating for Safety conference that urged attendees to take control of their profession and step up to help one another succeed.

The panel outlined the short-term goals of the Professional Standards Program (PSP), including expanding its role within ATSAP, establishing a process for identifying and addressing trends, and developing recurrent training. They also identified long-term goals, such as ensuring the program’s longevity.
