WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) will host an aviation community rally to call on Congress to end the government shutdown tomorrow on Capitol Hill. Representatives from across the aviation community will make clear that it is not business as usual for the aviation system during this government shutdown. The furlough of thousands of aviation safety professionals is eliminating critical layers of redundancy and safety that keep the system operating safely and efficiently. Manufacturing and modernization efforts have been stopped and certification processes that are critical for general aviation to thrive have been halted. The shutdown has also interrupted the flow of hiring, training and innovation.
