RETURN TO WORK BRIEFING: FAA ROAD TO RECOVERY PLANS, PHASE 1 & 2 (ARP) AND RESUMPTION OF ON-SITE SAFETY INSPECTIONS DURING COVID 19 PANDEMIC
On Friday, June 26, 2020, NATCA was provided notice by the Agency of its plans to move forward regarding the FAA Road to Recovery Plans, Phase 1 and 2 for the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), the Office of Finance and Management (AFN), Aviation Safety (AVS), Airports (ARP), and the Office of the General Counsel (AGC). Subsequently, on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, NATCA was provided notice by the Agency of its plans to move forward regarding its memorandum on resumption of on-site safety inspections during the COVID-19 pandemic. NATCA responded to the Agency’s notice by requesting a full briefing to obtain an explanation of forthcoming changes, and to ensure that they did not adversely impact bargaining unit employees (BUEs). A briefing on both changes was held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
NATCA will ensure that the Agency follows through with its outstanding action items and IOU’s. NATCA will monitor the Agency’s data and decision-making. Where necessary, NATCA will introduce proposals that govern the return to normal workplace operations.
