On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, the Agency briefed NATCA on its plans to implement HRPM 8.20, which contains language and provisions intended to administer the new paid leave category for Paid Parental Leave (PPL).  For instance, the new LWS-8.20 PPL provision provides eligible employees use of up to twelve workweeks of PPL for substitution of unpaid leave in connection with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).  The PPL benefit commences on the date of birth of an employee’s son or daughter, or the date of placement of a son or daughter with the employee for adoption or foster care, occurring on or after October 1, 2020.

NATCA is developing an MOU regarding the Agency’s PPL policy.
