FLIGHT TEST BRANCH (AIR-710) IMPLEMENTATION – NFTDB TOOL BRIEFING
On June 15, 2021, the Agency notified NATCA of its intent to implement the newly developed National Flight Test Database (NFTDB) tool for use by flight test crewmembers to create, search, and archive Daily Flight Test reports by other bargaining unit employees (BUEs) in AIR-700. The NFTDB simplifies and standardizes the way Daily Flight Test reports are created using drop-down menus and fillable fields to create these reports quickly and efficiently. Currently, flight report submissions are not standardized among the Flight Test branch. The new tool, NFTDB, eliminates the need to create each Daily Flight Test report from scratch and allows time-critical information to be immediately available to all flight test crewmembers and other FAA certification personnel.
NATCA will review the Agency’s training materials and submit any questions to the Agency. NATCA will also monitor the rollout of the new tool to ensure the transition is smooth and that BUEs know where to have any questions answered.
