WASHINGTON – National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) President Paul Rinaldi and Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert today issued a joint statement congratulating Larry Willis on his election as President of the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO (TTD) and Greg Regan on his election as TTD Secretary-Treasurer. NATCA also salutes outgoing TTD President Ed Wytkind, who is stepping down after more than two decades of service, including the last 14 as TTD President:
“NATCA offers both its warmest congratulations and its strong support to Larry and Greg as they take over the leadership of an organization that has fought for NATCA members and all of transportation labor with such passion for so many years. Larry is a great friend to us and to everyone who works in the transportation industry. He stands with us and for us, and we are excited to work with him to fight for good policies and to protect the rights and benefits of the men and women whose incredibly important work keeps our country moving safely and efficiently.
“NATCA also thanks Ed for having the backs of every one of our members and advocating for them with tireless devotion and a work ethic that speaks to just how much he cares about the rights of workers and their families’ well-being. Ed is a unique personality. He is union to his core. His fierce devotion and fiery passion have always inspired us through the highs of our successes and helped us battle through challenging times when solidarity and the spark of our collective spirit were our guiding forces. We wish Ed all the very best in the next chapter of his life.”
