Feb. 5, 2016 // Super Bowl Flight Advisory Announced

The FAA has released a flight restrictions advisory that will be in effect for the National Football League’s Super Bowl 50. Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) will be published to cover the events. The FAA encourages pilots to frequently check for changes to affected areas.

Two NOTAMs were released by the agency on Jan. 25 describing operating restrictions and requirements. NOTAM FDC 6/6395 will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time and NOTAM FDC 6/6446 will be in effect from 2 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time on Feb. 7.

Oakland Center (ZOA), Northern California TRACON (NCT), the Command Center (DCC), as well as almost all of the Bay Area Towers including San Jose (SJC), San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK), Livermore (LVK), Hayward (HWD), Napa County (APC), and Santa Rosa/Sonoma County (STS) will have a role in the upcoming staging for Super Bowl 50.
