Basic Legislative Activism Class

The Basic Legislative Activism Class is intended to take a member who knows little to nothing about the legislative process and give them the knowledge and support to take on the role of their facility legislative representative. The class will cover the basics of the legislative process, NATCA’s legislative structure, the basics of congressional relationship-building, the Hatch Act, how to take a meeting with your member of Congress and their staff, as well as other topics related to basic legislative activism.


Prerequisite: None

Class Duration: This two-day training begins at 8:30 a.m and ends at 5 p.m. Arrive one day prior to scheduled course and plan to depart in the afternoon on the day the course ends.

Class size: Class will be limited to 30 students.

What to bring: Pen/highlighter and notepad
