Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP)

This course generally covers supervisory responsibilities towards employees who are injured at work. It includes background information on the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act, information on completing and reviewing initial reporting forms, counseling employees about continuation of pay and compensation for wage loss, obtaining medical care as well as OWCP’s right to schedule second opinion examinations, job offers made by the agency to injured workers, and vocational rehabilitation. Participants should come prepared with questions about workers’ compensation and federal employees.


Prerequisites: OWCP Representative.

Training Duration: This one and one-half day training begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon.

What to bring: Pen/highlighter, notepad, laptop.
