March 4, 2016 // Midwest Air Traffic Control FCTs Launch ASAP

Building on the immense successes of the Air Traffic Safety Action Program (ATSAP) and the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) at NATCA represented RVA Federal Contract Towers (FCT), NATCA is proud to announce the addition of NATCA represented FCTs operated by Midwest Air Traffic Control (ATC) to the list of ASAP participants. ASAP at these Midwest FCTs launched Feb. 22, 2016.

“NATCA fully supports the launch of ASAP at our NATCA represented Midwest ATC Federal Contract Towers, and looks forward to seeing the advances in safety and benefits for our membership,” says Steve Hansen, Chairman of the NATCA National Safety Committee.

The goal of ASAP is to enhance aviation safety through the prevention of accidents and incidents. The goal is to encourage voluntary reporting of safety issues and events that controllers encounter.

“We are excited to launch ASAP for the 10 Midwest towers that NATCA represents,” says Hansen. “This is a proven program that has shown advances in safety in all facets of the aviation industry. We look forward to working together with Midwest ATC on this very important safety program.”
