On June 7, NATCA hosted its fourth media training at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Fifteen NATCA representatives from throughout the country attended this half-day training, led by NATCA Communications Department’s Sarah McCann and Doug Church. NATCA President Paul Rinaldi opened the training, during which representatives learned about managing the media and controlling an interview. Attendees also had the opportunity to practice on-camera interviews.
NATCA Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert and Western Pacific Regional Vice President Ham Ghaffari spoke at a Los Angeles Center membership meeting on June 3. Gilbert and Ghaffari spoke about funding, staffing, and answered questions about issues facing NATCA and the National Airspace System.
NATCA President Paul Rinaldi, Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert, and Eastern Regional Vice President Dean Iacopelli attended a New York TRACON membership meeting on June 8 in Westbury, N.Y. Rinaldi, Gilbert, and Iacopelli answered questions from many of the 65 members in attendance, and spoke about issues facing NATCA and the National Airspace System, including FAA reauthorization, funding, the staffing crisis and the uniqueness of N90, the tentative CBA, and more.
