Chicago Center (ZAU) has started a new tradition this month. Over the years, ZAU FacRep Toby Hauck has hoped to better recognize new BUEs as they are welcomed into the ZAU family.
Within the last couple of months, ZAU has received six FAA Academy graduates and they are the first to be recognized in a new way. This month, Barry Cooper (Great Lakes Regional Administrator) and Paul Litke (Lake Effect District General Manager) traveled to ZAU to give the oath of office to the facility’s newest employees.
Each member took the oath individually to highlight the importance of his or her career to the people of the United States of America. The ceremony was attended by NATCA members, managers, and outside guests.
“Professionalism starts from the very early stages of ones career,” explains Hauck. “Highlighting the oath of office will reiterate to these employees the pride we all have in our profession.”
