Santa Meets with Key Members of Congress
Earlier this month, NATCA President Rich Santa met with key Members of Congress including Sen. Gary Peters (Mich.), who is Chairman of the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee — which has jurisdiction over a wide range of federal employees issues. Santa also met with Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.-8th), who serves in the House of Representatives leadership as Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. Both Peters and Jeffries are longtime supporters of NATCA and fully understand how controllers and aviation professionals represented by our Union are at the forefront of keeping the flying public safe. Santa emphasized several key policy concerns for our Union, including staffing challenges. Both Peters and Jeffries indicated their willingness to continue working with NATCA to address ongoing issues and priorities.
