Drug and Alcohol Committee Provides Training to Empower Members

It’s not too late to register for the first Drug and Alcohol Training of 2023! This session takes place over the course of one and half days from Feb. 28 – Mar. 1 in Las Vegas. You can sign up on the NATCA Portal here.

The training provides an introduction into the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved in drug and alcohol testing. Coursework emphasizes the importance of correctly representing your BUEs during drug and alcohol testing. Exercises and interactions will get you familiar with the proper drug and alcohol testing procedures, the correct manner to run a test list (including who may be tested), the number of BUEs that may be tested each day, time parameters, annotating the test list, what a Treatment Rehabilitation Plan (TRP) is, what to look for in TRPs, and what the employee can expect during and after the TRP.

In addition, The Drug and Alcohol Committee (DAC) is available to attend regional and local meetings to give presentations and provide educational information to members on their rights and responsibilities. If you’re interested, email [email protected].
