NATCA Members Connect with the Community at Snow Cones with Controllers Event
NATCA members at Mesa Gateway FCT (IWA) recently hosted “Snow Cones with Controllers,” a community event that brought together nearly 150 attendees for an afternoon of aviation education, career exploration, and sweet treats in the desert heat.
Held at the Mesa Gateway Tower, the event aimed to spotlight the many diverse paths within the aviation industry and inspire the next generation of aviation professionals. Families and students had the opportunity to learn about careers in air traffic control, piloting, airport operations, and more—while cooling off with a snow cone!
Several incredible partners helped make the day a success, including the Mesa Gateway Airport Authority, PHX 99s, the Phoenix Chapter of Women in Aviation, ASU Polytechnic ATC Program, ATP Flight School, and the Mesa Airport Fire Department.
NATCA members that attended were Josh Morris (IWA FacRep), Katelyn Evans (IWA Secretary Treasurer), Scott Mulhollan (Phoenix TRACON, P50), and Michael Charlton (P50).
