Senator Jerry Moran Tours Wichita ATCT

U.S. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas recently toured the Wichita ATCT (ICT) and Wichita Airport. FacRep Scott Muzzy and NLC Kansas State Coordinator James Heath joined Senator Moran during the visit. The discussion focused on several key topics for NATCA members, including the effects cuts to the Federal Employee Retirement Service (FERS) would have on controller recruitment and retention, the need for technological improvements, and continued understaffing at ICT and other area facilities.

Senator Moran concluded the ICT visit by commenting on how impressed he always is at the professionalism air traffic controllers demonstrate despite the numerous stressors associated with the job.
