NATCA President Nick Daniels Shares the Controller Perspective During DOT Industry Days
On June 10, NATCA President Nick Daniels joined aviation industry stakeholders at the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Industry Days event. Daniels participated in a discussion panel moderated by Rebecca Guy, the Chief Technology Officer (acting) in the Air Traffic Organization of the Federal Aviation Administration. Other panel members included National Business Aviation Association President and CEO Ed Bolen, Airlines for America Senior Vice President for Legislative and Regulatory Policy Sharon Pinkerton, and PASS (Professional Aviation Safety Specialists, AFL-CIO) President David Spero.
This event was organized in support of the DOT’s initiative to supercharge air traffic control and build a brand new ATC system. The program for the event sought to engage private sector businesses in the modernization and hiring efforts and encourage companies to support the plan. Giving air traffic controllers and aviation safety workers a seat at the table is essential for guaranteeing the success of this ambitious undertaking.
