NATCA Statement on the Confirmation of Bryan Bedford as FAA Administrator

NOTE: NATCA distributed this message as a press release today.

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) congratulates Bryan Bedford on his confirmation as the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Administrator Bedford steps into this role with important work ahead. The FAA faces significant challenges, including ensuring the continued safe and efficient operation of the National Airspace System by addressing the air traffic controller staffing shortage through implementing Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s supercharged hiring plan and efforts to retain existing controllers and by executing the Administration’s modernization of ATC systems and facilities.

NATCA stands ready to work with Administrator Bedford and his leadership team to advance policies that support air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals, enhance system resilience, modernize the National Airspace System, and improve the flying public’s experience. We look forward to a productive partnership with a shared dedication to the mission of maintaining the safest, most efficient airspace in the world.
