U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette Visits Denver ATCT
U.S. Representative Diana DeGette of Colorado’s first congressional district toured Denver ATCT (DEN) on Aug. 4. The congresswoman and her staff were ecstatic to see the air traffic operations at the airport and meet some of our members. During the tour, DEN Secretary and Legislative Representative Zac Ploch led the tour and discussed some of NATCA’s priorities locally and nationally with Rep. DeGette. This included the ATC staffing crisis, the need for stable and predictable funding from Congress, how airport upgrades and construction impact air traffic, and the state of Denver ATCT’s existing infrastructure.
During the tour, Rep. DeGette expressed excitement about the possibility of touring the Denver TRACON (D01) and Denver Center (ZDV) in the future.
Following the visit, Zac Ploch said, “I feel confident saying [NATCA’s] relationship with [Congresswoman Degette] is definitely stronger after this visit.”
