Happy 25th NATCAversary to our Aircraft Certification Specialists! On Sept. 12, 2000, the Federal Labor Relations Association (FLRA) certified NATCA as the exclusive bargaining unit representative of FAA aircraft certification specialists. This group is composed of aerospace engineers, senior engineers, program managers, flight test pilots, aircraft certification assistants, and various administrative and technical support personnel. These bargaining unit employees approve new designs and modifications of aircraft, engines, propellers, and related components and accessories. They also develop, coordinate, and assess national policy and procedures related to certification and airworthiness.

These hardworking NATCA members play a critical role in supporting safety and efficiency in the National Airspace System while making the jobs of other aviation safety professionals possible. We’re grateful to have these extraordinary professionals in our Union family.
