NATCA in the News: President Nick Daniels Appears on Fox News Live to Discuss the Government Shutdown
NATCA President Nick Daniels sat down with Fox News Live anchor Mike Emanuel on Sunday, Oct. 5. Daniels stressed that America’s air traffic controllers take pride in the service they provide to the National Airspace System and will continue to show up to ensure that passengers and cargo arrive at their destinations safely.
“It is safe to fly,” Daniels said. “The American men and women that serve as our air traffic controllers, they’re showing up to work. They’re going to do every single thing they can.”
Daniels described the stress and unnecessary distraction a government shutdown causes to the more than 10,800 air traffic controllers. Because of the shutdown, they face the prospect of receiving a partial paycheck next week and no paychecks beginning later in the month.
