Senate Expected to Vote on Bipartisan Deal to End the Government Shutdown Tonight
The Senate will be voting tonight on a bipartisan package that would end the shutdown, provided it passes both chambers of Congress and is signed by the President.
We expect the package will include a Continuing Resolution (CR) that would fund the government through Jan. 31, 2026, three year-long appropriations bills covering military construction and the Veterans Affairs Department, the Agriculture Department, and the legislative branch, and reverse all of the Reductions-in-Force (RIFs) that have been issued since Oct. 1, 2025. Although the Department of Transportation and FAA would only be funded through Jan. 31, we expect a long-term appropriations bill covering FAA to be in the next group addressed by Congress.

NATCA’s National Legislative Committee, our legislative activists, and our national office staff have been advocating to Senate offices urging support for this package to end the shutdown and pay our members.
We expect the vote to occur late this evening, and we will update you once it has
