House of Representatives Expected to Vote on Bipartisan Deal to End the Government Shutdown Tonight

The House of Representatives will be voting tonight on a Senate-passed bipartisan package that would end the shutdown, provided it passes and is signed by the President.

The package includes a Continuing Resolution (CR) that would fund the government through Jan. 31, 2026, three year-long appropriations bills covering military construction and the Veterans Affairs Department, the Agriculture Department, and the legislative branch, and reverse all of the Reductions-in-Force (RIFs) that have been issued since Oct. 1, 2025. Although the Department of Transportation and FAA would be funded through Jan. 31, we expect a long-term appropriations bill covering the FAA to be in the next group addressed by Congress.

Since the Senate passed this package Monday evening, NATCA’s National Legislative Committee, our legislative activists, and our national office staff have been advocating to House offices urging support for this package to end the shutdown and pay our members.

We expect the vote to occur this evening, and we will update you once it has.
