“From Good to Great”: NATCA Leaders Gather in Phoenix
NATCA President Nick Daniels, Executive Vice President Mick Devine, and members of the National Executive Board (NEB) convened NATCA’s annual Committee Chair meeting. The gathering took place in Phoenix on Jan. 26 and 27. This year’s meeting also included leaders who hold positions on NATCA’s new council structure. That structure was implemented following the 2025 Committee Chairs Meeting, when NATCA leaders agreed to group committees and representatives into nine councils, with the goal of facilitating better collaboration and communication between committee and representatives of similar subject matter.
The 2026 two-day Committee Chair meeting included important discussions among leaders and the NEB across various topics, including organizational strategy and communication. Leaders received collaboration training to better communicate with their committees and groups, identified and worked through common issues their groups face, and received updated information to better lead within the organization.
Ryan Herrick (M98), one of this year’s meeting organizers, explained why he feels this meeting is important for NATCA each year: “Having all of NATCA’s committee chairs come together, in person, helps the committees discuss common goals by breaking down silos and allowing us to work collectively vs against each other. When the leaders of this Association are aligned, we can move the ball forward to take the Union from good to great.”
Our NATCA leaders left the meeting with knowledge on how to better move our organization forward and represent our Union and its members.
