NATCA Members Gain Interview Skills During Recent Media Training

Eight NATCA members recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to complete a media training course at NATCA’s National Office. During the class, attendees received practical, real-world instruction on best practices and strategies for interviews with different media outlets. The training also offered all members an opportunity to get real-world experience by developing talking points and then participating in mock on-camera interviews in NATCA’s studio.

The eight NATCA members are now trained to handle interviews on behalf of the Union.  Congratulations to graduates Matthew Ball (Kansas City Downtown ATCT, MKC), Jake Detwiler (Boston Center, ZBW), Kristi Hopson (Tulsa ATCT, TUL), Lisen Minetti (Engineer/Aeronautical Center, EAC), Yasha Moridi (Atlanta TRACON, A80), Matthew Reavis (Detroit TRACON, D21), Travis Schlumpberger (Corpus Christi ATCT, CRP), and Rick Tornabell (Denver TRACON, D01).

The training was managed and run by NATCA’s Public Affairs Director Thom Metzger and Deputy Director Galen Munroe with the assistance of Public Affairs Administrators Jessica Reed and Kevin White.
