Save 15 percent on select monthly wireless service plans from AT&T, the only union nationwide wireless company
NATCA Member Wins $250 for Herself and $500 for Her Local, Thanks to Savings, Solidarity, and AT&T
For many union members, being a part of a union is more than the security they feel on the job or the collective bargaining that is done on their behalf – it is being a part of a group of like-minded individuals that care about each other. Jennifer Popp, a National Air Traffic Controllers Association Local Indianapolis Center member, likens her union to “her second family.”
Union Plus understands the importance of the labor movement to the union members they serve. So, as a way of saying thank you for the support of AT&T and the Union Plus Wireless Discount Program, it ran a sweepstakes awarding five lucky union members with $250, with their local getting $500 to go to a scholarship fund or a charitable organization of its choosing.
“My local sends out a weekly newsletter promoting the benefits that Union Plus offers,” Popp, one of the five sweepstakes winners, said. “I went to their website to check out the travel benefits and saw the sweepstakes being advertised. I clicked on the contest and entered. I told everyone in my union after I won.”
Union Plus understands how important it is to be backed by a union. That is why it offers more than 25 member benefits programs exclusively to union members, including wireless service provided by AT&T Wireless.
“It is so great that AT&T supports union members,” Popp said, speaking of the almost 150,000 union members that work for AT&T Wireless. “It is so important to support union companies. I have been an AT&T Wireless customer for as long as I can remember for that very reason. I am very happy with their service and it seems like they’re always making improvements. I have their TV and Internet service as well.”
The Union Plus Wireless Discount Program, through AT&T, the only nationwide unionized wireless carrier, allows union members to save 15 percent on their monthly service charge on qualified plans. New and existing AT&T customers can get the discount.
“It’s very beneficial to all union members that Union Plus puts all of the savings and discounts available to us into one website,” Popp added. “The website is very easy to use, and it is great that it is just for union members. I also have a Union Plus Credit Card. The protection that a card provides with their grants is so great.”
The Union Plus Credit Card Program2 offers several card options to all dues-paying union members, including the Cash Rewards credit card and the Rate Advantage credit card. The Cash Rewards credit card offers 1.5 percent cash back on all purchases. The Rate Advantage credit card offers low APRs, even after the first year.
After three months, eligible cardholders have access to exclusive Hardship Assistance Grants including Job Loss, Strike, Disability, and Hospital Grants. All approved grants are paid to the cardholder by check and never have to be paid back.
